The dreaded tax season is almost over and I will be able to get back to having a lot more time for my sewing and my blog...yeah!!
It's April 17th this year. The 15th is a Sunday and Monday is 'Emancipation Day". A holiday I have never even heard of, but DC celebrates it, so you get two extra days to get those forms in.
I've been temping in a accountant's office this year......it's been busy and it's getting out of hand now. LOL
Just three more weeks.....18-24 more work days..........I. Am. Ready.
Oh, my favorite thing: when people come into the office: look you straight in the eye, knowing they have never set eyes on your before, and say, "I'm here to pick up my taxes." (blink, blink.the sound of crickets chirping is in the air) Like I know their name. It's just tooooooo funny.
Now, I have to make time to actually do my own taxes. hahahaha Lame, right?

* Sigh *
It's feels like an eternity....my machine and I have been apart too long!
Well, tonight that changed! A little, but a little is better than nothing....... I finished the edges of a fleece blankie. Don't know who will get it, but I can now cross it off my list!
I started making this cute little grocery bag tonight. I knew with the time I allotted myself that I wouldn't get to finish it, but tomorrow I intend to! My friend Karen wrote a little something about this bag on her blog...check it out!

My fabrics: 3 from the Long Live Vintage line by AdornIt. L-O-V-E . I wish fabric lines ran a little longer than 6 months...especially ones I think are awesome sauce. The inside is just some heavy duty yellow I had in the closet. It's almost sinful to cut into this fabric.....almost!! :-)
Since joining the workforce, my sewing time has been cut way back. Part of it is time management, part of it is feeling like I have to do chores first...to completion, before I let myself sew.
The last few evenings, I've been hangin' with the hubs. I did not miss my sewing machine.
My blog life has suffered a bit too. I didn't think I would miss it, but I really do!

FNSI: Sometimes, you must bow down to the ridiculous!!
So I did:
I saw these footed egg cups at the market...they called to me....loudly.
Sooooooo, I turned them into pincushions with some scraps of fabric, stuffing and hot glue I couldn't not, ya know!
I smile every time I look at them! Can't wait to be the Easter Bunny for a couple of my sewing buds.
It's still early, what else can I do. Hopefully there will be a part deux!

Catch up Time
Wow, my life is packed full lately. birthdays, baby showers, ladies' events, cooking and working. Not as much time for being creative as I'd like.....but really, how many of us have that? Those of you that get to be creative for a paycheck.....:-P~~~~~ (in the most loving way possible, of course)
Creative:
Diaper cake.
I used the burp cloths as the frosting and the topper is Little Miss Isabella's first trick or treat bag and some more burpies....you can never have enough of those....ever!!
The Dot made some funfetti cupcakes. I provided the stuff, she provided the labor.
They were pretty and pretty tasty!
On the horizon:
I really am going to make some clothes this summer.
I feel like being a dress girl again. Love me some capris, but it's time for an update. Both dresses have pockets and when done in a nice cotton or lightweight denim, they will be totally casual.
LOVE the green jacket......no big collar....'nuff said
And the little girl jumper.....so many options and such an easy pattern and since I have 8 million buttons (slight exaggeration) I gotta have some plans to use them other than to create my own button box (yes, I am doing that too)
Spent the last of my b-day money on a kitchen scale. Pretty basic, but more than adequate.
If I need some fancy schmancy measurements, the hubs has one that is scary that I can use.
Ahhhhh, time to get off my booty and avoid the inevitable....do the dang taxes. Oy and vay.
What's up with y'all?
