Been Busy.......sewing and crafting

With Christmas day fast approaching, I had to kick it into high gear.

My little corner of the world looked pretty bad for a couple of days

My finishes in the last three days....

Apron

Gingerbreadman

Cowboy stocking

Look inside!!
MooooOOOooooo

6 piggie bank gift card holders

All the little piggies in a row

I still need to make two more gift card holders, edge a fleece blanket, get a couple more gifts, stocking stuffers and plan a meal for, hmmmmm, how many?......16? 19? one of those numbers....lol the more the merrier....my place will be the place to be on the 28th...par-tay
If I can, I want to make wheel covers for my hubs trailer too. I am tired of looking at that ratty ol' burlap keeping his wheels from getting a sunburn.

How are you spending your last few days before Christmas and New Year's Day?  If you don't do Christmas, how do you spend your time?

Surprisingly, I don't feel too stressed, but it isn't quite crunch time yet. lol

Tiny Stitches

I have always appreciated the skill and patience required to work in miniature. It's amazing, to me, how people can get such precise details in such a small work area.

After working on something mini myself, my appreciation is even greater. My project, for an up coming blog hop, is only 3" by 2"......totally mini by my standards.

A sneak peek:

Wow, my stitches look ginormous up close. lol  And not so neat either. :-)

Have you ever made something in a "mini me" size?

HUGS AND KISSES BLOG HOP **update**

To quote our blog mistress, Mdm Samm:

"It does not matter if you celebrate VALENTINES  day or not...
I think you would most certainly agree, our world could
use more hugs and kisses.."

Our cheerleader for this hop is Ms. Jane of Jane's Fabrics
Can you see the red, white and pink pomspoms? Sure, I know you can!

My little contribution is an almost finished table runner using all the reds from the Home Town Collection by Sweetwater and two little heart projects....all made this week!
I waited for ever to decide what to do then I let time get away from me. LOL
I also did another V-day hop too....doy!

Love the colors....l o v e

What it will look like once the binding is attached...

Ah yes, true love on the flip side..........
This puppy will be displayed for the entire month of May in celebration
of the 5-17-2013 release of ST: Into Darkness
Boooo and yaaaaa

A close up of the quilting

I made this little conversation heart pincushion
as a little hostess gift for a fellow stitcher
FYI...she loves it and is going to wear it as a pin on V-day. lol
It's about 4" across and an inch deep.

This little beauty was made for a Steampunk themed V-day Hop

Felt Tips

Got this tip from a crafty friend, Karen, and it worked so good I just had to share it!!
Are you ready???
You use packing tape on your tiny pieces to stick to your felt. It holds everything flat and you can get a nice clean cut!!!
Tip number two: don't fold your felt, use enough pattern pieces so you can fully layout your items and they stay labeled and you don't have to deal with the bump of folded fabric. (tip 3) Also, make a full piece (see the tail) to compensate for not folding. When you work with tiny pieces, any little miss-cut makes a big difference.

Pattern pieces tapped to the felt. This is the good wool blend stuff. The taped pulled off easy peasy.

See how flat the pattern piece stays! And yes, I did over trim one little foot in the back. You should always pay extra attention with tiny pieces. LOL

The finished pup!! Working on pup number two in the deep chocolate color with matching floss.
