Week 41

Once again, I'm playing catchup with the blogging. I feel like I need to narrow my focus and really make this blog into something. Or, I could start another page or blog and get all specific. That will be a New Year's project as the holiday season in now in full swing.

Made a mini quilt from my sweetwater box.
Even mitered the border.

Some fun bowls from Tupperware. I  love a good halloween sale

Took over the dinning room table to make some pillowcases for Texas Flood survivors

Halloween fun!

A few more motifs..
Las Vegas, Tom Petty, hair cut, getting stitches removed, Mexico earthquake

Hoopview

My helper is sleeping on the job

Pulled out the old girl for a good lube job, a new LED light and a little piecing.

Made a Christmas blanket. Sweater on one side, fleece on the other

New recipe, Spanish Tortilla. Super yummy

We have a band or two of wild turkeys roaming the 'hood. This is the church parking lot.
They were not afraid. LOL

Tug of war until they couldn't move.  hahahaha

Somebody is in heat. Oy. Time for a few more doggie pad holder/chastity belts.

She has a chicken nugget sized tail so I didn't have to worry about a tail hole.
Although, I would just put in a big, ol' button hole to accommodate one if need be.
I keep tweaking the design. I'll get in perfect about the time she hits dogopause. LOL

How is your week 41? Any Christmas projects stated? Finished?

Week 8

Hoop view week 8. I am pretty sure that this thing will get filled before a year is up unless I go with a lot of fill stitching in between motifs.

 Flip side

My not so helpful helper

Checked out a few books for technique and inspiration from my local library.
They have an amazing selection. I started a list of books I want to check out and began with these 7.
did you know there is a mystery series with embroidery? I know, right.
If I love one, I will buy it. I ♥ my library.

Worked on a mini quilt. 16 spool blocks make up a 12" block. Oy.
Tiny is hard. Going to minter my border and a little bit of hand stitching, maybe something
that resembles thread wrapped around the spool, then bind, the done!

♪♫You better work (work it girl) ♪ give it to me (work it girl) ♫ smile for the camera...♫♪

Dot and granddot tearing my closet apart and doing a fashion show.
They were too funny.

Anyone in blogland doing the #1yearofstitches?
Got crazy family members?
Love mini quilts?
Love their local library?

Slow and steady

Some Stitchy progress....

My one year of stitches hoop....Day 47.
My dot thinks I will fill this long before a year is up. I'm aiming for 6 months, then I will do a hoop with black fabric and lots of flowers.....I think.
I'm doing current events and things that will be memorable to me. birthday, Valentines, grammys, the election, star trek, food...just stuff.

 A little mini quilting
See what happens when you forget to pay attention to direction fabrics....LOL

Did a challenge piece. I am a great pattern follower, but I need work in creating my own art.
Still, not to bad.

Best mileage....ever.
Yes, I happened to be cruising downhill the whole time. hahaha

Fixed some floppy pockets

Had a birthday
The hoop and the board were made by my dot in law

Gratuitous granddot shot.
She loves having Momo (auntie) do beauty treatments.
In fact, she and the dot were giving out beauty treatments on my b-day.

Project Sweetwater Volume II

Sweetwater Fabric  has a new thing. Project boxes. It is replacing their monthly label crew. Looks like these will be a quarterly thing, but this is only box number 2, so who knows.

This one uses 'Mama Said Sew Volume II'. Love this color palette.

Here's a peek and what you get, plus the link above will give you more info.

First glance. There is laffy taffy in that little baggy.
It comes with MORE than enough fabric for the 6 projects (color patterns on card stock included), the trims and little extras too. No batting, but we all have scraps of that stuff layin' around, am I right?

I completed 3 of the projects.

Project number 4 is all cut out and ready to go.
It's teeny. It's tiny.
It's going to be a 16.5 x 16.5 spool quilt.

I wasn't kidding when I said teeny, tiny.

Lily was not helpful.

I already pre-ordered the next one.Project sweetwater solids. So far I love everything in this box and the sneak peek from the next one looks fab.

If you love little projects and a little gift giving (or keeping lol), this is a win win of a buy.

Now to sew those micro squares together. Wish me luck!!

May, June and July

Lots of happenings and even a little sewing. I want there to be a lot of sewing.....I WILL get better about scheduling fun as well as boring junk...I. WILL.

Some of what's happening......

Working on a table topper...A big ol' dresden in all the greens from the circa 1934 line.

Finished an apron...have another cut out and hope to finish it this weekend

Eva Dress pattern printed, taped and cut out.
Most of the pattern lined up well except for one tiny facing piece.....it met at four corners......really?
That should be fixed. Will post more as I sew the pattern in the next couple of weeks.

Got prescription sunglasses. Still adjusting

Celebrated the Fourth with the hubs up in Chico area
***Warning  Selfie practice***

Lots of fruit fixin to be ripe..already eating some of the grapes  yummo

Had lots of family visiting on and off for the last few months, hospital visits for the mil have stopped since they changed her meds back to the old stuff, hot flashes have turned into hot sweats, got a smart phone, lost 11.2 pounds and have taken nearly 1,000,000 (one million) steps since I got my pedometer. A pretty full quarter of a year.

Trying to get back into blogging on a more regular basis....we shall see...
