New in November: bibs and bags

November already......where did the time go? The older I get, the faster times moves. I really don't care for that little factoid. LOL

This last week, I've sewn a little and helped my friend Denise a little.

She had a bit of knee surgery and I bug check on her every day. She doesn't want to be a bother, but she just needs to suck that up and milk this while she can! Besides, I like being a bother. ;-)

Her Noni has reached an age where she needs a lot more care than she'd like and her care giver (Denise's uncle?I think she might even be in a facility...I gotta get my brain fixed, sheesh)) requested a few more adult bibs.

This is the original. It's neck opening isn't centered.....that drove me nuts.

We played with some fabric at her place and came up with some dimensions and reworked the shape a bit, then I brought it home and made a pattern so she could  make a bunch for Her Noni.

The first try. We decided a little bit more length and we took off the sharp corners to give it a more refined look. You should've seen it...hahahaha it was cut sooooo lopsided...we don't even know how that happened, but it did.

Ta and daaaaaa
Anal, overachiever that I am, I wanted to dart it but she told me no....brat!! I like darts, what can I say?

I also finished up my little bag project. Denise pointed out they were just the right size for a thread catcher...or even put a leak proof pot in them and make them a planter cover or giant pencil/scissor holders. Decisions, decisions....one is definitely a halloween bag.

Today I am going to make banana bread, help Ms. Denise with her Noni's Neck Napkins and do a bit of cleaning. I joined a stocking swap, so I may just start drawing up some ideas. I don't know who my partner will be or what she likes, but it's good to have a plan...no?

I think I have decided to make fabric gift tags for all my packages this year. They can also double as gift card holders too. Teens love $$ as a gift and that makes my shopping all that much easier and those that do love a homemade pressie, I can spend more time on them!

Let the Holiday Season begin.........
