Well, since I started hand quilting this baby, it's gone pretty fast. I am a lot farther along than I thought I would be. I will definitely be done before my estimate of two weeks if I keep up this pace.
Another 14" section done!
I feel like the 'pinwheel' needs a little somethin-somethin in the middle....mmmmmmm
I have a few threaded needles here and there. The hoop does get in the way but it holds the fabric so nicely....I don't mind....as long as I remember where there are. If not, yeeee-ouch!
Kinda hard to tell, but it looks about half way done.
The stitching isn't as nice as the front, but I am happy to say,
it isn't as bad as I thought it would be!
It's not perfect, and I kinda like that about it.
That's a big step for me because I am a little anal at times. lol
I can't wait for it to be done because it will be the second quilt I have quilted all by hand.
Next pics will be in the finished files!!! woo and hoo
I love it! I don't think you need anything in the centers. Any why do you have multiple threaded needles? What is the benefit?
ReplyDeleteIf I have a lot of thread left and more quilting in the same area to do, I don't knot and then start a whole new line, I just move my hoop and continue where I left off. Saves time, thread and I don't have to bury more knots. LOL
DeleteAs the lady who taught me to quilt would say, it's a little "Amished". :) Because only God is perfect, Amish quilts tend to have an itty bitty mistake somewhere in the quilt... on purpose.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks great! You are inspring me to do some hand quilting :-)
ReplyDeleteI totally love it! I can't wait for little Ellie to play on it. Thank you my friend. It's beautiful. And the backing fabric is perfect. I call her my little Ellie Bean!
ReplyDeleteWowzers! I am really impressed! I don't have the 'stick-to-it-ness' to take on such a task as hand quilting.... now I know who to send all my unfinised projects too! lol!
ReplyDeleteHappy Autumn...
>^..^<
let's see how long it takes me to finish this one first.
Deleteso so cute! love the fabrics, lucky little baby!
