Jeans Sew-along begins today!!

Male Pattern Boldness is hosting something seriously fun!! A Jeans Sew-Along. That's right, a whole bunch of us are going to muddle through the murky waters of denim, felled seams and fly front openings. I'm sure there will be complete newbies and few veterans sprinkled throughout the masses.
If you want a sewing adventure.....join us!!!

I am going to work with pattern 5142 from McCall's

I am going with the slightly lower rise, straight leg. It will need some alterations because I like my jeans to ride a little high on the back waistline and a little low on the front. I want a slim thigh fit, but not skin tight and then a straight shot down. Also, my booty is like passover bread...unleavened. LOL That will be my biggest fit issue, I'm sure.

Kind of like the look of these jeans: Jalie 968 ( I really want a copy of this pattern in a plus size people!!!!)

I may also use McCall's 5894 and unsew a beat, but favorite pair of jeans for comparison.

I can't wait!! I need to prewash and dry (several times) some practice denim and some good stuff.
This is eexxcciittiinngggggggg!!

I will be posting updates here as well as the flickr group for the MPB Jeans Sew-Along.

I will surely earn my Ellie Badge for this great adventure!!!
