Lazy Daisy Kinda Day
I am not feeling overly productive today. Sure, I've got things to do...I just don't wanna.
Which, in reality, means: I am expending copious amounts of energy to avoid the mundane parts of my day (chores, etc) that would, in fact, take less energy to do. So lazy isn't quite the right word since it takes lots of hard work to avoid hard work. LOL
In honor of having a Lazy Daisy Kinda Day every once in awhile......visions of lazy daisies....
Off to be less lazy...........................maybe. :-)

Jump Drive Madness
Well, my addiction to memory used to be bad. I've lost more than I have. I should say that my daughter has lost plenty and I have given away some of the smaller capacity drives. My son washed and dried two of them. One still worked until he washed and dried it again!!
I remember when memory was very expensive.....like my very first one:
This one was like $59.95 on sale a million years ago......256 megabytes....wow
This one is a 128 and came with 3 different color covers...128!!!
I am surprised at how much I still use the 128 for just paperwork and stuff. I gave away 3 this size and they are still being used. They are plenty big for smaller photos and regular old data
I had 6 of these. This is my last one......I paid a whopping 2 bucks for it.
I know, right? $60.00 for the 256mb and $2.00 for 2.0 GB
My how times changed, plus, these were on clearance because
the high speed usb 2.0's came out and this is a lowly usb 1.0
This is my last one.......I've given a couple away and the Dot has lost a couple.
Then I kept wanting pretty colors and more capacity. 4 whole gigs!!
This 3 pack came with an orange too, but I can't find it. :-(
It was my fave.....the lime is my second fave. The boy loves the red one.
Still more capacity and pretty colors.....my 8 gigs.
I had to get a second one because the boy kept making off with it instead of the ones he had. That's right, he got a 1 gig for christmas several years ago when a 1 gig was awesome, then he upgraded to MY 2 gig, both were Geek Squard (I wonder where they are???)
If I ever get a memory card for my camera that is larger than 8 gigs, I will have to upgrade to a new jump drive again!!
I found one!!!!
It still amazes me that I paid more for my very first jump drive than I did for almost all the rest of them.....added all together!!
What do you have far too many of but feel like you can't live without??
I know I have too many pincushion!
Star Trek is not included in this list because that is necessary for life...just sayin... LOL
(three more ornaments added this year..............booo and yah!)

I made it Monday!
I finished up a few items. One, I started over the weekend and ripped apart last night because I didn't like the way it looked, and 3 items I did this morning!!
It's for my daughter's english teacher. He and his wife are expecting their first baby any time now. I've started a quilt for the wee little lass already.
First, My 'Dear Jane" mug rug. The blocks are 3" finished. THREE INCHES!!!
I hope my swap partner likes it!!
I wanted this done last night, but I spent most of the evening looking for my snap tool. Heck, I spent part of this morning looking for it and settled on velcro. LOL I even had it in pink...why pink? I don't know, but it sure came in handy!!
Two binky holders and a little binky pouch.
The binky bag all closed up!!

New Tools!
I should've have done it....nope, nope, nope! I already treated myself to two layer cakes of fabric, but I had zero, nada, nothing, for a few little baby items.
Sooooooooooooo, I stopped by the dojo while I was dropping of the kids and asked Denise if she wanted to go fabric looking buying with me. That was dangerous for the both of us!!
As you can see, I did get the baby friendly fabric.
On to the tools.........gadgets......paraphernalia ...... L-O-V-E!!
1) A new rotary cutter. the big heifer one!! I've been cutting a lot of fleece lately and my 45mm just isn't deep enough...this puppy is!! boo and yah!!
2) Easy Dresden tool. I just don't know...I had a coupon and Amy is making a killer Christmas Dresden quiltee. Apparently, I have a gadget addiction. Could be worse, right?
3) And my new favorite...........an 8.5" by 24" ruler! I heart it already!! My 6 x 24 ruler is old and some of the lines are, well, missing; it's looking pretty sad. It has served me well for, let's see........16 years (wowzers) I'll keep it, but the newbie will be my go-to ruler now.
I had coupons and sale items...so it didn't hurt too awfully bad. Now I need use what I have before I go out and about.....again......sooner than I should....Bad Gena in da house!!
What are your go-to-tools???
* * * update * * *
Just used the new cutter......O-M-G!!!
Loving it times ten!!
Friday Night Sew-in
I got quite a bit done this go 'round! Yeah me!!
Laid out a baby quilt....it's bold, but I think the parents are bold, so it works!
Mostly, I worked on a mug rug for a swap. It appears I am mailing it a few days late...I got the dates wrong, but it's going out Saturday, oh! that's today!
Pieces being cut and prepped
The blocks are tttiiinnnnnyyyyyyyyyy
My partner mentioned she would like to make a 'Dear Jane' quilt someday, so I based my blocks on a few from that quilt. I only remember that the applique is called Sarah's Tears.
Front and back pieces...all repros from that period!
Not too shabby, ifin I do say so myself. :-)
Unfortunately, the help wasn't much help and zonked out early.....
and right in the middle of where I needed to walk. That darn cat!!
I hope your FNSI found you sewing your little fingers to the bone!
Can't wait for the next one....I'm sure I'll be working on Halloween or Christmas stuff by then.
.....I hope
......I wish
.....I better be more organized than last year!!

Fruits and veggies in cake..... oh my!
The Dot turned 17 and wanted carrot cake. Had some bananas that were gonna be dead if they didn't get eaten asap........so I baked!!!
A slice of carrot cake...my own, personal recipe!!
Banana Nut Bread from the side.....yes, there is a slice missing.
My mom couldn't wait for it to cool or for me to get a pic...lol
See the giant pecan pieces and chunks of banana?
I wish I could eat banana...they don't like me, but I sure like them!!
How do you eat your fruits and veggies?
Hey, I'm pretty proud of myself....it wasn't just chocolate this go 'round!!

Vacation
I've been on a bit of a sewing vaca this week. Finished up two panda costumes on Monday and have been at Vacation Bible School ( hereby known as VBS) every night at 6:15 sharp.
It's a total blast and I sometimes think that the adults have more fun than the kids!
Last night, we got to go in the belly of the whale....rib cage, fishy smell and all...............awesome sauce!!
Less sewing, means a bit less blogging, but I'll be back annoying y'all soon enough...like today! :-)

So long favorite jeans *sniff*
Hello bermudas!!
The knee area of these pants is practically see through. The holey look is fab when you are a teen or twenty-something with a killer bod and the right attitude. I, however, look shabby.
Well, I wasn't quite ready to part with a jean that fits, soooooooooooo, I finally got brave and turned them into shorts.
I think I need to raise the hem a bit, but other than that, I'll get another year or two out of these pants before they go bye-bye forever.
Before: more shabby than chic
I have nice knees, but I don't have to cheapen myself by showing them to the world. LOL
*Gulp* getting ready to hack them up...bye baby
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, I cut them!
Did the serger thing so they didn't fray............yes, I didn't feel like rethreading it, so pink it is!!
Folded it over for a nice little hem
Pinned in place
A cute little top stitching and they are done.

And no ''drop some tonnage'' or ''get a tan" remarks......I already know that! LOL
