Table runner finished

And it only took a year or so. lol  The blocks were made late 2012 early 2013, but I didn't get around to the quilting until this past week. I took it as an opportunity to practice my lack of machine quilting skillz. ha

My friends and I, the Crafty Chicas, each made four blocks that were identical, kept one. sent the other three out. We each ended up with four matching blocks...all dresdens in Chateau Rouge fabric.

The blocks we made:

Karen........Amy.......me......Denise

back...a piece of batik I had laying around

Some stitching close ups. I did each block differently

I think it turned out kinda cute myself. Another UFO bites the dust!!!

Progress, slow and steady

First off, I went with the Bokhara(n) stitch. Looks better from a distance. lol But it did give me the look I wanted and I used nearly half a skein of floss for a tiny little area.

Grocery bags....7 of them. I am not showing the pretty parts...mwah ha ha
A few are for a swap and I want to keep a little mystery alive.....but only a little.

Also got a few more squares of the baby quilt quilted. I am afraid I may run out of the blue precensia perle before I am done.

What are you doin?

Been wanting to blog bbbuuutttttt.....

My dresden centers are still a secret and I can't do "the big reveal" until all us swappers have our blocks, but I can show off some of my embroidery without giving anything away.
That white, fuzzy stuff is the sticky-solvi I printed the design on....the more strands you use, the better it comes out.....and pull pretty tight. This has three stands and it washed out just fine!!

Sooooooo a sneaky peeky

Ha! You can't tell what the letters are or what the background fabric looks like!
I should be able to do the big four block reveal at the end of the week......
hint, hint...I can't take it anymore!!!!

For the love of making and sharing :-)

How many of you sew/craft? I am willing to bet a lot of you!! I am not so much crafty, but I do enjoy being one with fabric and needle. I am learning to be crafty...I'm told it's a lot of fun. :-) We'll see!
Here are just a few of the things that were made by me or by a friend. And I apparently have a few new addictions too. LOL
Hope you enjoy the looksee as much as I enjoy the doing and using!!

I am in a pillowcase/nightstand coaster swap. Did I take a pic of the pillowcases I made? Nooooooo . Lame!

These are from my blog buddy Karen. Sorry, I got a lot of my junk all around it.

Blog buddy Amy sent these. My friend Denise wanted to kidnap the heart pincushion...big time.

In order to keep my new pincushion, I copy-catter-dirty-rattered Amy's creation for Denise.

                                                             Showin' my crafty side!!!
My coasters and a little moleskine notebook that I ever so slightly embellished.

A little wall hanging for Karen's b-day. She really likes red and I really like Mumm. :-)

All the coasties together. New addiction: fabric coasters. Making and using.
I am liking the mug rug variety too.

And now, the other addiction: pincushions. These are mine, all mine, mine I tell ya!
(possessive, me? nooooooooo)

Hey, I just noticed, these pincushions represent Karen, Denise, Amy and me. LOL

This little feller fits on my finger or my chatelaine. It has a bottle cap base so I don't impale myself.

This one really fits over the arm of the couch, but
I fold one side under and use it by the machine most of the time.

This one has a magnet in the bottom and sits atop my dress form.

Makin' and sharin'.........does it get any better than that?
What are you making and sharing? Nosy Inquiring minds want to know!

 UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE

I found a pick of the pillow cases!!!

Stocking Swap 2010

Originally this was just going to be a very small swap. It was still small, but nothing like I was thinking. As the swap mama, I posted to all of facebook and didn't get to unfacebook until I had 5 swappers. And I thought I was a little bit tech savvy.....not!
It turned out better than I could imagine! We each made four stockings, 1 for each swapper, and then include 1 recipe, 5 gift tags, one ornament.I also tried to get everyone to keep it envelope friendly and under $3.00 shipping. Most of us followed the rules, sorta, kinda, okay, barely LOL
So now a lovely pictorial of the swap.
For another viewpoint of the story, see fellow swapper Karen's blog. It's pretty awesome.

The sockawackas I made for the swap

The first to arrive was Amy's. Can you tell I am a trek fan? LOL Fab or what?

The next to arrive was Karen's. I got two, count' em, TWO half eaten gingerbreads and one is a Spockookie!! He goes fan-tas-tically with the Trek Stocking. Seriously!!!
Oh, Spockookie with Sockookie

Next was Carolyn's. Look at those prairie points!! Very nice!

Lats, but not least, my friend Mark's. See the Spockmonkey ornament???
Dingleballs and Star Trek, what could be better?

Group shot of my goodies! My dressform never looked so good. LOL

This has been one of the bestest swaps ever! I highly recommend doing a small swap with a few very creative and talented friends. You will sooooooo not be sorry!
