Some Stitchy progress....

My one year of stitches hoop....Day 47.

My dot thinks I will fill this long before a year is up. I'm aiming for 6 months, then I will do a hoop with black fabric and lots of flowers.....I think.

I'm doing current events and things that will be memorable to me. birthday, Valentines, grammys, the election, star trek, food...just stuff.

Yep, it happens to the best of us...you keep your blog up for years and then the mojo wears out and life gets über busy. Some fun busy, some not so fun busy. 

Let's stick with the fun busy..

Had a birthday. The DIL made be a borg cube cake....how awesome is that?!

Made some icebox cookies from an old cookbook. They did not taste like what I remember.

Had a fun day at Polly's quilt camp

I have started cutting out the pieces for an American Jane quilt called... Down by the Bay

It looks like a camp blanket. Love it. I have to finish two colors of triangles and the background fabric, then I can start piecing. 

I did a muslin for the Darling Ranges dress....it needs some tweaking in the boob area, but it isn't a bad dry run.

The Eva dress muslin fits great, I just need to get the pieces cut out. It should be a quick sew. I plan to try my hand at shearing with elastic thread instead of a waist tie. Wish me luck....LOL

I do have tons I want to accomplish, but life means I have to take my time instead of devoting all my time to creative pursuits....drat! At least I will never be bored, right?

IT'S HERE!    IT'S HERE!

My friend Karen is a sewista extrodianaire! She was soooooo apologetic because my birthday pressie was gonna be a little late. Welllllllllllll, I didn't even think about a giftee so I wasn't bothered by the lateness at all. 

You see, she needed a black zipper, but there was a little problem...her car engine decided to blow up and all kinds of life happened.  I hate when that happens, don't you?

You know the ol' adage: good things come to those who wait? It's true, VERY true.

She made me a 'stellar' project bag. "Out of this world", even.

Did I give away the theme yet?  Doy, right! Whose blog is this anyway? (geek flag flying high)

Just so you can get a feel for the size....that is a 7" hoop, a 5" hoop and a 5" pair of scissors

I need to make a few little travel sized accessories to hold floss and needles and scissors and such.

Hmmmmmmm, I bet I have just the fabric too!  

I almost hate to tell you this, but she can make you one too, just visit her etsy shop. It's a special order.....

If Trek ain't your thang (say it ain't so) she has other project bags that are just darling.

From my dear friend Karen. I already have a spot on it....bad me! But I love it so I intend to love it to death...well, until it's threadbare anyway. :-)

The fabric is so delicate, I have no idea how it held up through many a cold season.

And this sewing caddy, cushion, thread-catcher. She says it needs to be a bit heavier since she used some study fabrics.......maybe a little, but so far, it's staying in place.

The mailman was very kind to me today. Some giftees to myself arrived. 

I shouldn't have done it, but I have a fabric addiction. 

I'd ask about a 12 step program, but I just don't want to get better, ya know!

I know, I know, it seems like a lot, but at .53 cents each...
