week 20

Been a fun and busy couple of weeks.

The cat decided to sneak into my cabinet while I was getting something and then I found him trying to get out. Crazy cat!

A little goofing in Oregon with some of my bible study chicks.

 Somebody turns five this week and had a little Chuck E. Cheese fun the day before her party and then the party. Sleeping beauty was the theme.

Also cleaned my sewing room and the dot cleaned her closet out which means I need to re-clean my sewing room. Oy.

Lots of boring chores and a couple trips to Oakhurst to look at houses. Every time we find something we both like, it's already snapped up. It's hard to house hunt from afar and by the time you get there, well, you know the story.
Looking into building. If the fees aren't too ridiculous (yuba county I'm talking to you) we just may start from scratch.

Checked out a few books for technique and inspiration from my local library. 

They have an amazing selection. I started a list of books I want to check out and began with these 7.

did you know there is a mystery series with embroidery? I know, right.

If I love one, I will buy it. I ♥ my library.

Worked on a mini quilt. 16 spool blocks make up a 12" block. Oy.

Tiny is hard. Going to minter my border and a little bit of hand stitching, maybe something

that resembles thread wrapped around the spool, then bind, the done!

My Sewing room saw some action...finally

I have done little bits here and there and even a finish or two with lots of sewing in the pipeline.....first up an Olaf costume for VBS........that is gonna be interesting, let me tell ya...no pattern, just wingin it. lol

I made a phone bean bag. Pretty easy. Not thrilled with the shape. 

Does it work....quite well.

I so want to be a finisher, so I figure even it I just sew or prep or something for at least 15-30 minutes a day, things will get done. I have other responsibilities and I usually won't sew unless all my "haftas" are done, but I am getting better at adding fun into my daily planner. Not just tv time, but actual go outside or sew something time. After Olaf, I am going to finish that darned Eva dress.....yessireebob!

I keep telling myself to blog at least once a week, but then life gets in the way, and there had been a whole lotta livin' goin' on. And that is a good thing!!

I am actually a "wogger" (walker+jogger) and it has been so fun to earn a little bling to keep me motivated on my journey into better health. Fitting into a regular ol' large instead of a 2X is a great bonus!

I did get some sewing in, but that's for another post.
